Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of medications does the gene test cover?

  • The gene test used covers 275+ medications in areas such as cardiology, mental health, blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes and many more.

Will you make medication changes with results?

  • We do not make any changes to your medications, but rather we make recommendations based on a comprehensive review and results from the genetic test.   We will provide a medication action plan that you can take with you to your provider with the recommendations we discussed.   We can also send our recommendations to your provider if you wish.  We ask that you do not make any medication changes without first talking with your provider.

How is the sample collected?

  • The sample is sent to you through the mail with detailed instructions.  Collecting the sample is done by a simple cheek swab to gather saliva, which will be used to generate your report.

How long do the tests last?

  • Once you complete the test, you don't have to get another one!  Your genetic makeup doesn't change, so this information you receive is good for your lifetime.   You can use the information for future medications.
